TCA15: New Beginnings for Agent Carter and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. ‘s Upcoming Seasons

ABC Entertainment Network President Paul Lee spoke to the press and executive panel about the Fall 2015 seasons for the upcoming series in his show. He also talked about the future of Marvel Television including Agent Carter and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s different changes of paths.

Peggy Carter Takes on Hollywood 

We’re doing this season of Agent Carter here in Hollywood/It’s really opening it up because suddenly you have the glamour of late ‘40s Hollywood. You have Haley in that environment. [She’s] enjoying itself.

More Inhumans Coming to S.H.I.E.L.D.

S.H.I.E.L.D. itself has a really interesting next season/You probably know that Skye suddenly had super powers. She’s Inhuman and now the real thrust for next season is are you Inhuman? You’re going to seem ore characters with super powers. They’ve arced out a really fun season.

On Marvel Television Future, 

We would [do more Marvel]. Obviously we’ll be very careful not to overpromise. Our studios make shows we do for Netflix. Daredevil is a big hit. S.H.I.E.L.D. is a very strong asset. [I’m] very bullish about Marvel and its future on the network.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns this fall in September and Agent Carter’s second season will premiere in mid-season in 2016.

Fantastic Four: “We’ve been so focused on getting this one right..” Simon Kinberg Says

20th Century took a big risk by deciding to reboot Fantastic Four after it has been done once and with a lot of critical reception in hand. No one knows this, better than Producer Simon Kinberg who has written and produced the X-Men franchise as well. In fact, he knew a lot was riding on this reboot and he wanted to make sure to get it right.

Kinberg spoke to Comic Book Resources about the impending film and the high expectations. He also discussed plans for the sequels with 20th Century Fox having already mentioned a Fantastic Four sequel will happen.

I have a lot of ideas of where I think it should go beyond this film. We’ve been so focused on getting this one right — ultimately, that’s the most important thing. This film is the origin and very beginning of the Fantastic Four. For me, in future films, we’d want to really see what it’s like to become a public celebrity superhero group, which is what the Fantastic Four were, essentially. They were known within the world and dealing with that in today’s society would be interesting. It’s something not a lot of movies have done in grounded ways.

Then there are specific things from the books, whether it is vehicles or specific powers, that I’d love to see. It always comes back to the characters. That’s why we fall in love with those books in the first place. There are a lot of places to go with these characters, because they are young and are just starting to embrace who they are. There’s a lot of room for them to grow, emotionally. That’s really what excites me about the potential of future movies, to explore stories and love and deeper conflicts and to just keep going deeper into their inner personal relationships.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2: James Gunn Revealed A Key Character

Director James Gunn just shared a key player will be back in the Guardians of the Galaxy sequel, Vol. 2.

In his Snapchat, he gave us a tiny tease of the script for the sequel, revealing a key character in the process.

Who is Kraglin again? Kraglin (portrayed by Sean Gunn) was one of the first mates of Yondu’s Ravagers, who kidnapped Peter Quill (Chris Pratt). During Peter’s upbringing, they develop a rivalry between them.

Here’s what happens in the ending and why it ties in with the film (provided by Marvel Wiki),

After Ronan was defeated and killed Kraglin rejoined Yondu and took possession of the Orb. As they left Xandar, Kraglin and Yondu discussed whether or not they should have delivered Quill to his father like they were hired to do. As they traveled through space Kraglin joined the other Ravagers in the celebration of their victory.

One of the key elements for the next season, revealed by Gunn was that we would find out who Peter’s dad is and from the looks of the tiny tease above, he might go to Kraglin and Yondu for answers on him or vice versa. However, they thought they had the Orb when in reality Peter gave them the fake one. This could also lead Kraglin back to him, delivering answers on the way as well.
